Project Description

MY CID, ENDURO CROSSING from VOL’s Offroad

MIO CID is our reinterpretation of the classic route The Camino del Cid o The exile of the Cid, it can be called in many different ways. It is a route that passes through the places that once, between the years 1065 & 1099, The Knight Don Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar rode, better known as “El Cid Campeador”. Al Cid, among many feats, the reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula is attributed to him.

We have baptized it as MY CID why did we remember, of our student days, the name of the first poetic work written in the Spanish language, back in the year 1200, The Song of Mio Cid. We play with the word Mio which means ours and with this we intend to explain that it is a different Journey, ours, that of VOL’s Offroad.

Our journey is divided into seven stages of about 180 km diarios, being very "hard" the route, it will take us a whole day, perform said mileage. Our philosophy is the same as always, arrive at the accommodation at a reasonable time to enjoy the surroundings, the company and the local gastronomy and of course rest and relax to face the next day's stage, safely and energetically. It is a one hundred percent enduro route although, with some changes, could be transformed and performed with light trail bikes.

The route of our MY CID crosses a 1.300 Km south of Catalonia, Aragon and Castile, representing the former Crown of Catalonia and Aragon and the Kingdom of Castile. We will leave the Osona region, north of Barcelona, and we will arrive in Burgos, specifically to the historic town of Vivar del Cid. You may have already guessed that the beauty of the landscapes that we will cross will be dominated by huge and captivating castles and fortresses from Medieval times., with great historical value. The truth is that we could even get "tired" of seeing castles, the amount is such, que podría llamarse tranquilamente la ruta de los castillos. Sus etapas discurren entre caminos, peoples, Hotels, rural houses i shelters, so no need to worry about logistics, VOL's Offroad does for you.
